The swift and powerful Kãrearea / New Zealand Falcon with a purple twist...


The purple hue in the feathers pays homage to the club colours of the GI Falcons, a local sports team established in 1981.



The Falcon I used as reference came from my own photography and first-time encounter with Karearea up close. They're such majestic beauties but have a slightly terrifying presence at the same time. Painting large-scale, I hope to echo that primal power through the mural. 🦅
